How do I care for my patch?

WASHING -  To ensure the longevity of your hand made patch, I recommend hand washing in cold water separately and hanging to dry in shade. Do not wring, or rub surface of patch while washing. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry clean.

Treat it like the prized possession it is, and whisper sweet nothings to it from time to time.

PILLING - Back at Cha patches are mostly made from felt in a range of acrylic/wool blends. These fibres can be prone to pilling, however if you follow the care instructions and avoid excess rubbing (against a back pack for example), this shouldn't be a problem. And if so, it's nothing a quick once over with a lint roller can't fix! (Mmmm Lindt...)

Your patches seem expensive...

All Back at Cha patches are made entirely from scratch, from sketch to application.

Patch creation times vary depending on the required detail, however even the simplest patches take a number of hours to create.

(Let me get personal here: While I could design a generic piece of lettering, have it mass-produced overseas and make squillions of patch dollars, I choose not to. This lil' business of mine is about creating really special one-off pieces for clients who want to commemorate a special day, or treasure a piece of clothing -and rock it- til it's falling apart. )

I've done my best to provide a range of pricing options to fit everyone's budget including a 'squad discount' for bulk orders of the same design, but do contact me if you feel you're going to miss out and want to find a way to work together.

I've got an idea for a patch I couldn't find in your gallery...

GREAT! That's all part of the fun. Back at Cha is an entirely custom service, and I'm open to creating any patch-phrase your heart desires!

Get in touch via the contact page and we'll work out the specs.

Does your service include the jacket, or just the patch?

PATCH ONLY - However I am happy to help you hunt down the perfect piece online.

You can drop off or send your garment to my studio in Collingwood and I will apply the patch for you at no extra cost.

Alternatively, I can send off just the patch with instructions for self-application. And I will happily virtually hold your hand through the process if that prospect is terrifying.

Does my patch have to go onto a denim jacket?

NOT NECESSARILY!

The design and thickness of the patch is best suited to denim, but can be applied to other fabrics.

Got a non-denim garment in mind? Feel free to float it by me, and I can offer my advice.

How many words can I have on there?

'THE LIMIT DOES NOT EXIST'

Just keep in mind that we've only got a jacket panel canvas to work within, and the more detailed the patch the longer the process, the more expensive it could be.

Go' on though, lay it on me and I'll let you know if it's possible.

Will you create a patch for my baby?

How about my dog?

ABSOLUTELY!

I might even take payment in cuddles.

Do you ship worldwide?

SO FAR I've shipped to the US and the UK through Australia Post.

I'm open to shipping elsewhere, and I charge the appropriate costs additionally.

What if I opt to self-apply and ruin it?

UH OH... Bits of your patch peeling off? We can add some extra hidden stitching for reinforcement. Accidentally made a mark or somehow spread the adhesive outside the bounds of the patch? Nothing a strategically placed polka dot or extra felt leaf can't cover, right?

Besides the patch and jacket completely catching fire (what were you doing!?), most mistakes can be repaired.

UNFORTUNATELY Your patch cannot be replaced free of charge, however I will do my best to find a fair solution for you.

I want one!
